The blog of the week – This week we present to you the blog Macademian Girl, by Tamara Gonzalez Perea from Szczecin, Poland. You will probably ask yourself, as I did, what does the name actually mean? Well, here is the explanation! It arises from the Macadamia, a genus of flowering plants that has nine species. Two of them, the Macadamia integrifolia and the Macadamia tetraphylla, produce nuts which are important are valuable of the food crop. How did you get in touch with fashion?

I was always drawn to fashion, but only after starting my own blog I really fell in love with it! Now I’m laughing that it’s ‘one in a lifetime’ relationship.

Why do you have a fashion blog and for how long for?

I have my blog for a year now and it’s just so inspiring and stimulating experience.
I think running it just has developed my style so much – I’m much more open and aware of what I’m wearing now. I actually became this fearless person who dares to wear pretty much everything if I feel like!

What are your favourite blogs?

I love so many blogs that it is difficult to pick just a few, but I would have to name http://fellt.com/garypepper and http://www.breakmystyle.com/.
Those girls are so colorful and stylish in their own ways. They’ve became a great inspiration to me.

What do you do in your “real” life?

I’m and Interior Design student at Art Academy in Szczecin, Poland. After graduating, I’m planning to start fashion design studies – this is my ‘to do’ for the future.

Do you have a favorite designer(s) or fashion icons?

My favorite designer is probably Mary Katrantzou – I think she’s a GENIUS! What she’s doing is actually more like digital painting just ‘transformed’ into fashion. And my style icon is – above all the others (forever and always) – Anna Dello Russo. There’s no one out there like her, no one who gives fashion such an edge and fun attitude, she’s amazing! Anna pretty much became my ‘all time icon’ now and I wish I could tell her that some day.
