NYFD: Berlin Fashion Week for Beginners.

In case you’re not from Germany and all the names we keep blogging about don’t really mean anything to you; maybe you even think Berlin fashion week doesn’t mean anything to you: here’s my 101 on Berlin fashion week; the basics you need to know about Berlin’s fashion scene.

The names everybody knows in Germany are designers who have been around for a while, like Lala Berlin, who is well known as the queen of knits, Micheal Michalsky, and of course Escada as well as Hugo Boss. The really creative and avant-garde fashion, however, comes from designers even most Germans have never heard of.
