I spent the weekend in the Netherlands and on Saturday afternoon, I walked the streets of Amsterdam, where I walked by United Nude Flagship Store. It might sound weird, but it was the first time that I really paid attention to the brand that was made alive by the fusion of Rem D Koolhaas, Creative Director & Founder, and Galahad Clark, Founder. Of course I had seen the result of the collaboration with Iris van Herpen before, among others, but the in-house products were new to me. The story is kind of fascinating as Rem tried to downsize architecture to a way smaller object than a building for example, in order to get his girl back, therefore he focused on the female foot. United Nude launched the ‘Möbius’ in 2003 and ever since, the company has been defending its intersection between fashion and design. Today, the stylish footwear is sold in over 40 countries and Flagship Stores grace the overall image of cities as the Dutch capital, London, New York and Shanghai.
